Lu Smith
From an early age the written word was an integral part of my life. At age 4 I demanded my Mother read me the same book over and over until I knew it by heart and could pretend I was reading it myself. Fast forward 19 years and after graduating from Manchester with a degree in Design and Art Direction, I still had the same hunger, it not being quite fulfilled by the practical route my undergraduate took. I had too many questions; can design and writing be creatively linked? Can a designer also be an author? I'm hoping that I can answer these questions, comment on them and dispute them, but I also hope this will prompt me to ask questions of my own creative practice.
