Laura Chan
I developed a strong interest in architectural theory having graduated from Architecture BA (Hons) at The University of Brighton in 2008.
Alongside MA DWC, I work part-time for the Royal Institute of British Architects' think tank, Building Futures, as a researcher for the current 2009 debate series.
Why I chose this course?
MA Design Writing Criticism has given me the platform on which to develop my ideas regarding various design issues, and has enabled me to better express my ideas through writing. I chose this course so I could learn how to justify the reason for every word I write.
What I've learnt so far?
MA DWC has enabled me to meet with practitioners of narratives such as an Indian storyteller; a chef; editors; journalists; curators and others with design writing expertise. This encourages me to write more which is the only way of improving my writing skills, and more specifically my writing on design.
