Originally from Austria, I studied graphic design in Barcelona. Keen on actually practicing, I soon joined a small studio focusing on cultural projects. Two years later I found myself working freelance, until I accepted a supposedly attractive job in a big publishing house.
While I was studying, I always felt that there was a lack of theory and discourse about design. But when I started to work as an editorial designer, I got angry. Content and a corresponding design were considered unnecessary. The anger made me quit the job and look for a new approach. Writing about design is a way to create a dialogue, to make people be aware.
