Julia Errens

I went to Art School wanting to become an Illustrator. Art School had other ideas and made me realise the full scope of visual communications and its effects on our lives. I fell for Graphic Design head over heels and spent four rather giddy years exploring all so

After graduating from the Academy of Fine Arts Maastricht with a BA in Graphic Design, I felt very much that I wasn't all I should be as a Designer, yet. I knew how to entice the audience to read content – how could I estimate what content was worthy of that support? Did I even want that responsibility? Was it attainable to me? I saw little point in trying to improve the way I say things when what I had to say was not up to scratch. As design had always been, to me, a way of making my words visible, it seemed only natural that I focus on my writing.

I came to join MADWC in the hopes of both improving my writing skills and forming a competent, firm critical position in my field. Because I do want that responsibility.
