David Cabianca
David Cabianca completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Manitoba and holds masters degrees from Princeton University, Cranbrook Academy of Art and The University of Reading. He is on leave from his position as an associate professor at York University, Toronto Canada, while he pursues his interests in contemporary graphic design and issues of representation and disciplinary conflict at LCC. His writings have appeared in Emigre, Design Issues, IDEA, ACSA Proceedings and on the design blog DesignObserver.
He is also completing a text typeface, Cardea, scheduled for public release by the Emigre Font Foundry, and is co-organizing with Kenneth FitzGerald and Jiwon Lee, an AIGA Design Educator's Conference titled, "Blunt: Explicit and Graphic Design Criticism Now" to be held spring 2013 at Old Dominion University, Norfolk VA.
