Food plays a central role in our daily lives, and is an integral part of the curriculum of the MA Design Writing Criticism programme.
Mushroom risotto
Students were taken to a cooking school in London to directly engage in the process of making. As cooking shares similar characteristics to the activity of design process, it was an opportunity for students to collaborate and experience first hand, making something from concept to final product - in this case, a seasonal wild mushroom risotto.
Breadmaking
Listening and sharing life histories provide valuable insights into how and what people consider important in their lives. Students shared these experiences with residents from the Aylesbury Estate, South London, during an afternoon of breadmaking.
