Alex Cameron
A self-taught graphic designer and magazine art director, Alex has almost 20 years experience working both in print and online. Throughout this time great change has taken place in the practice of graphic design and the ideas that influence it. Increasingly interested in both aspects, Alex felt the draw [rather late in life] of formal education. The question, What is the role of the graphic designer?, is one that has dominated much of his thinking and personal study.
Intending to apply to the MA Graphic Design course at the LCC he attended the open evening and heard and later met Teal Triggs. Teal’s explanation of the intention and discipline of the MA Design Writing Criticism forced a rethink, and one that he remains utterly convinced was the right call. To date the work, along with fellow students and course lecturers, has been inspiring beyond his expectations. The course is, as it should be, a constant challenge.
