The Pie Canon
Pie. Fancy a slice?
What kind you ask? Well, as it turns out, the MA DWC class has plenty of flavours on offer. Sweetie pies, scotch pies, honey pies, angel pies, apple pies - even baby pies. These and many more pie-esque creations, stories, songs, poems and photographs were on offer this past week as the class was asked to bring in examples of their own individual interpretations of the word "PIE." A delectable afternoon indeed.
We're fortunate to have such a diverse group of engaged and interesting people around our table - allowing our own unique experiences and histories to influence our responses to the pie dilemma, and so many other discussions. These varied perceptions were especially useful on Wednesday, when we were asked to delve into these communal pie resources and use the information and inspiration we found to create short written responses - in only 30 minutes.
We may be MA students, but boy, were we sweating by minute 29.
Browse through some photos of the session, our contributed resources, and some lovely real-life pies and cakes supplied by our very own sweetie-pie Alex Cameron.
